Cormorant Fishing at the Kintaikyo Bridge

A 370-year old Nishiki River summer tradition. Watch trained, wild duck catch freshwater trout from a houseboat by the Kintai Bridge, which is lit up at night. Day-time catching is also available. ※Day-time wild duck hunt is only on weekends and holidays during June 1st-August 31st (12:30-14:00)

The first Sunday of every July is the ceremony for the opening of the waterfall. From April 29th to the second Sunday of September (only open on Sundays and holidays from April to mid-June), you can enjoy catching noodles that are placed in flowing water along a bamboo gutter.

During the Meiji era, 3913 people immigrated from Suo-Oshima to Hawaii. Both still hold a strong connection to each other. Saturday Hulas also known as Sata-Hula will be held every Saturday again this year. Please come and enjoy the hula dancing.
