A temple founded in 1327 during the time ruled by emperor Godaigo.
This is the oldest Zen temple remains in Japan of Karayo style architecture which represents the Kamakura era,
In 1953, it has got designated as a national treasure.
Beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring, red maples in the autumn.
This temple is also known as a place where Takasugi Shinsaku rose his army. Statue of him on a horse is located inside.
Free entrance.
