During Pacific war, a battleship school for the former navy was constructed on this site to train for the pilot of the human torpedo "Kaiten".
Atada war museum stands in the corner of this site and exhibits related documents, belongings, and replica of the torpedo which was actually used in the movie "Deguchi-no-nai-Umi (Sea without exit).
