As it said on his will, Takasugi Shinsaku was buried in Mt.Shimizu in Yoshida, where it used to be the Kiheitai army's camp. His lover Ouno became a nun as Baishoni to build this place to protect his grave for rest of her life.

"Tougyou" was his pen name and his grave is a nationally designated historic site.

Inside will be full of plums in the early spring, iris in the summer, red maples in the autumn.

Tougyou memorial hall exhibits items related to Shinsaku.
