Murozumi is a beautiful place facing calm Mitarai bay. This place has developed since ancient times as an important harbor town of Setonaikai sea route, and also as a cathedral town that dedicated to "Fuken-bosatsu", Buddhism god of sea protection.

After the redevelopment in the Edo period by Choshu domain, Murozumi office was built. Many shipping agents were in a row in this area, the port for call of Kitamaebune route.
