The site of Santoka Taneda's birthplace, the wandering Haiku poet who was born in Hofu City. The road leading to his elementary school is called the "Santoka path" and you can see his Haikus on walls of private houses and the like. Moreover, starting from his birthplace to the JR Hofu station there are more than 80 slabs placed all over the city with his Haikus cut on them.
