Sasanami is a farm village located on the southern edge of former Asahi village and used to develop as a resting place and post town in between Mitajiri (Hofu) and Hagi caste town.


Sasanami townscape did not get changed since it got developed as a post town based on agriculture in Edo period along with Hagi-Okan road getting organized. A number of architectures, crafts, and environments that represents the character of this town are preserved until today in here.
