Iwaki Shrine, located on Mt. Iwaki in Shioda, Hikari City, is a historic shrine that is recorded in the Heian period and enshrines the gods of martial arts, mining, and agriculture and forestry. According to the shrine's history, the current main hall was rebuilt in 1469 during the Muromachi period. It is a magnificent large-scale Kasuga-zukuri style shrine building that retains the characteristic of the Muromachi period in its structure and decoration, and it was designated as a national treasure in 1929 and an important cultural property in 1950. In the fall of 2022, the damaged parts such as the roof, handrails, and floors were repaired, and the majestic appearance was restored. A quiet spot in the woods.
